We aim to provide objectively-driven injury risk reduction, performance training and rehabilitation that is holistic, individualised, and uses a problem-based approach that empowers the athlete (or patient) through education. Mixed methods are used to target a blend of both traditional overload with coordinative overload approaches, all driven by changes to performance outcomes and physical profiling variables. Three words to summarise our training and rehabilitation approach: dedicated, diligent, and thorough.
Steven holds the NSCS Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification, demonstrating his understanding of the requirements and application of skills as a strength and conditioning coach.

Prior to meeting you, Steven deep-dives into the background of your sport to understand the performance-related physical needs of it, and then meets with you taking your injury history, needs, wants, likes and dislikes into account to ensure our testing is suited to your needs.

As part of the process, Steven will screen key movements associated to your sport, and this may include flexibility tests, mobility tests and movement competency In actions such as a squat and hinge actions.

To add the final piece to the puzzle, you will conduct a selection of tests to determine how you perform in relation to normative data associated with your sport (where it is available). This could include tests to determine physical capabilities such as strength, power, jump ability or even body composition. This testing battery is tailored to each individual.

A tailored plan, bespoke to the individual is provided using an app (TrueCoach) enabling daily and weekly training to be mapped with any relevant testing, metrics or measures being recorded along the way. From daily steps, to training RPE, or even a flexibility test - we can ensure we are monitoring any relevant details.

There is no use saying we want to increase strength, if we don’t track and measure if we actually have! At the end of a training block, we will implement testing to indicate the improvements noted, and to give further direction on the next training block, enabling modifications to the initial plan if required.

At the end of our planned training cycle, our aim is to peak for the relevant competitions, and enhance performance. We build your training programme to do just that, peak at the desired time points so you feel fresher, fitter and stronger going into competition.

Steven had been working with Tom ahead of the first fight photo, providing him with recovery support using his sports therapy skills, and aided his training through the provision of performance testing. However following the fight in March 2024, Steven and Tom worked more closely, performing performance testing pre-camp and pre-fight alongside a training plan which increased his strength, power, and muscle mass whilst keeping him at his required fight weight. As a result, Tom stayed injury-free in this period and looked more athletic ahead of the fight.
